The pump in this kit has a minimum flow rate of 100LPM and a maximum flow rate of 166LPM.  Please use the calculations below to work out if the pump is large enough for your pool.  If not, please see our range of larger pool pumps.  Please be aware that the larger pool pumps do not come with a sand filter.

Calculate pump size = Pool Volume in Litres ÷ 6 (hours) ÷ 60 (LPM) = Minimum Flow Rate / min required.

So, if a 10,000L pool needs to completely circulate every 6 hours:  10,000L ÷ 6 = 1667L needs to be turned over every hour.

1667 Liters ÷ 60 minutes = 27.78 LPM

Result: The pump needs to have a minimum flow rate of 27.78 LPM

This will determine the minimum flow rate you need use to ensure the water in your pool can make a complete circulation every 6 hours.
