Pressure pump selection guide.

If you want to buy a rainwater tank pump, the information below is what you need to look for when selecting a pressure pump for your rainwater tank.

The pressure pump selection guide is structured in two parts.

The first part is for ‘Above Ground Tanks’.  Above ground tanks are rainwater tanks that are sitting on top of the ground.

Typically the pressure pump is located close to the rainwater tank.  The water from the rainwater tank will gravity feed into the pressure pump.

The second part is for ‘Below Ground Tanks’. Below ground tanks are rainwater tanks that are buried under the ground.

There are usually two types of pumps used here.  One is a ground mounted pressure pump that will ‘suck’ the water up from the underground tank.  The other is a submersible pressure pump that is submersed inside the underground rainwater tank.

Pressure pumps for ‘Above Ground Tanks’

A GOOD pump selection is the PRJ55E.  This pump will handle 2-3 outlets operating at one time.
A BETTER pump selection is the PRJ65E.  This pump will handle 2-4 outlets operating at one time.
The BEST pump selection is the RHMS40-60.  This pump will handle 2-4 outlets operating at one time.

A GOOD pump selection is the PRJ65E.  This pump will handle 2-4 outlets operating at one time.
A BETTER pump selection is the PRJ80E.  This pump will handle 4-6 outlets operating at one time.
The BEST pump selection is the RHMS38-110.  This pump will handle 4-8 outlets operating at one time.

A GOOD pump selection is the PRJ80E.  This pump will handle 4-6 outlets operating at one time.
A BETTER pump selection is the RHMS52-110.  This pump will handle 5-7 outlets operating at one time.
The BEST pump selection is the VSRE67-120.  This pump will handle 5-8 outlets operating at one time.

A GOOD pump selection is the PRJ100E.  This pump will handle 5-7 outlets operating at one time.
A BETTER pump selection is the RHMS67-120.  This pump will handle 5-8 outlets operating at one time.
The BEST pump selection is the VSRE78-120.  This pump will handle 5-8 outlets operating at one time.

Pressure pumps for ‘Below Ground Tanks’

A GOOD pump selection is the RPS34E (submersible pump) or PRJ65E.  These pumps will handle 2-4 outlets operating at one time.
A BETTER pump selection is the RPS34E (submersible pump) or PRJ65E.  These pumps will handle 2-4 outlets operating at one time.
The BEST pump selection is the RPS57E (submersible pump) or PRJ80E.  These pumps will handle 4-6 outlets operating at one time.

Weatherproof your pump.

You’ll need a weatherproof cover and base for the pump.  This will protect the pump and plug from the elements and muffle its noise.
